Good things come with a desire, persistence and effort
Since I started to study English in school, I disliked it so much that I thought I would never be able to understand it. It was so difficult for me to understand English rules and usage. I have always been very successful in my native language, so when I tried to learn English, I always applied the rules of the Lithuanian language. Of course, then I made a lot of mistakes. I had a very irrational trait... I always wanted to learn and understand everything at once, without much effort. It is not surprising that I lost hope of ever learning English.
One day I realized that it is very important and useful to have English skills. It was a turning point. Since then, I have started to overcome my attitude and tried to understand English. I tried to devote much more time for it. I began to learn English words, phrases, times, rules and everything else. Then I saw that I started to understand English. My English teacher began to praise me, motivate me, encourage me not to stop learning and continue to be interested in English. Of course, despite my efforts, I really do not know English perfectly but I really do know English a hundred times better than before the struggle with myself.
I still get nervous when I talk in English. I know that I still make a lot of grammar, vocabulary and other mistakes while talking. If someone asks me something I feel very uncomfortable and sometimes even confused. In these situations I want to tell people to stop talking to me in English, to stop asking me questions. After those situations pass and I‘m calm again I can‘t believe that I couldn't answer simple questions and forgot the simplest words. I am aware that I need to be more relaxed and not be afraid to talk to people in English. I must learn to control my fear of speaking, even if I make mistakes. I hope that I will be able to talk and write in English fluently and easily in the future.
Summarizing everything, I can say that I realized that knowledge or understanding of any subject does not come from nowhere. From the time I improved my English skills, I began to believe that good things come with a desire, persistence and effort. These are three required characteristics to achieve personal goals. This I believe.
